Cleanup Begins On Suisun Bay 'Ghost Fleet'

At long last, the effort to clean up one of the Bay Area's biggest eyesores has begun.
The process of removing the dozens of World War II era ships that were mothballed years ago in Suisun Bay got underway this week. The ships have been sitting there for decades, and shedding toxic paint into the water. The first of the ships was brought to Pier 70 in San Francisco Tuesday to be cleaned before it is sent to Texas for recycling.
